While these young homeowners appreciated the Asian influence mid century modern home they purchased in Oakland, they wanted an update to reflect their modern sensibility. Our design team imagined several outdoor “rooms” for the family: kitchen, dining area, living area and even a sport court for the kids. We worked with the slope of the back yard, creating a split level garden, with spaces divided by stairs, and surrounded by a handsome horizontal slat fence.
