Our clients asked us to extend the pristine design of their Spanish-revival Crocker Highlands home into their garden. A small balcony was converted into a deck off of the living room, making it possible for the first time to create a staircase to the lower garden. Careful consideration was given to selecting materials, from the herringbone brick pattern, to the Spanish tiles on the stair treads in both front and back gardens. A rustic, heavy beam arbor stretches over a stucco fireplace with a custom wood mantle. Spanish-inspired lanterns hang from the reclaimed wood wall behind the dining area, and a calming Mediterranean fountain surrounded by ginger and creeping fig spreads its soothing sounds throughout the garden rooms.
